For consistency and continuity of language use, the course will highlight how to embed strategies in a child’s daily routines so that language learning can happen during interaction and socialization in natural settings.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to :
- Learn essential, basic concepts about communication and stages of communication development
- Understand the importance of the child’s active participation in frequent, extended communicative interactions in daily routines at home
- Learn strategies and ideas to facilitate and enhance communication in their children with communication delays
- Learn to apply language facilitation strategies across contexts so intervention becomes a natural part of parent-child interactions.
