Course Outline

Have you ever wanted to learn how to switch adapt a toy for your student or child? This module provides hands on practice to provide you with a step-by-step experience of how to switch adapt toys to encourage cause/effect, increase interaction, attention, and motivation for your kids. This module encourages hands on learning by doing, allowing participants to adapt and leave with a toy to use in the classroom or home tomorrow. All you need to do is bring a toy or item to adapt. We will provide the rest!

Selecting a toy:
i. A toy with a few regular buttons works best for switch adaptions.
ii. Inspect the toy to see if all its functions are controlled with regular buttons.
iii. If any of the toy’s functions are activated with voice command, motion activation, capacitive touch or other more complicated controls, the toy will be difficult to adapt and a simpler toy should be selected.

Unsure if your toy can be switch adapted? Please contact AT Hub prior to date. (Contact person’s email will be provided upon successful registration.)
